Cabin Fever Weekend

March 12, 2010 12pm-4pm

Cabin Fever Comes to the Peninsula Library, the Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum, Richfield and Hinckley! March 12, 13 and 14 March 19, 20 and 21 Museum Hours 12 p.m.— 4 p.m. Come celebrate Cabin Fever with the Peninsula Library and the Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum with exhibits, open house days, and historical trivia. View our exhibits on the history of Peninsula and the surrounding Cuyahoga Valley at the Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum March 12th-14th and March 19th - 21st. Friends of the Library Book Sale

Stop by the library during the Cabin Fever weekend and browse through our book sale. We will have gently used books, magazines, music cds, videos and more! Preveiw for current memberships will be Sat March 13, 9am-10am. Please bring your Friends of the Library Membership Card to get into the preview.

Harvest for Hunger

March 13, 2010 during library hours, through March 31

Harvest for Hunger at the Peninsula Library March 1—31. During the month of March, the Peninsula Library will serve as a local drop off point for non-perishable food which will go to the initiatives organized by Harvest for Hunger.  In 2009, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank distributed over 18 million pounds of food to families in need.  Due to the current economic situation, the foodbank is experiencing unprecedented demands.  Please do your part during the month of March by donating to this much needed effort.

Preschool Story Hour

Getting Started with Medicare

This class will offer people approaching retirement or going on Medicare for the first time a chance to gain a basic understanding of how Medicare works. Presented by Laura Mutsko, a Medicare Supplement Accredited Adviser and a Certified Senior Advisor through the Society of Senior Advisors, the class offers fundamental information about what Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D cover. Information will also be provided on the difference between the Original Medicare Plan and a Medicare Advantage Plan. Please call to register so we have enough handouts for everyone

Lego Contest for Kids

March 29, 2010 during library hours

Ages 4 and up—LEGO Contest Take a stab at creating your own LEGO design, and display it at the library. The age categories are: 4 to 6 with a parent, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. Your entry should be made on your own using your imaginations (no kits) and dropped off at the library March 29 and 30. You will be able to vote for you favorite piece during the display March 31 thru April 3. Call us or stop in the library to register for the contest and to get the Official LEGO contest rules. Winners will be announced Monday, April 5, 2010.

Fans are welcome to come, listen, relax and enjoy these organized jam sessions!
