Library Foundation Endowment Campaign Update
November 6, 2008 : As you may know, we are in the midst of a very exciting opportunity to create a solid future for the Library – and for our community – by building the Endowment Fund which will exclusively benefit the Peninsula Library & Historical Society. The Endowment Fund is managed by The Peninsula Library Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists solely to support the Library. A very exciting aspect of our Endowment Campaign is that gifts made at this time are being matched by a challenge grant we have received from the GAR Foundation. They are providing us with a 2:1 match on donations and pledges made until December 1, 2008. If we can raise $160,000 they will give us $80,000. A gift at this time would be a huge boost toward that goal. A mass mailing went out to our local patrons letting them know about this Endowment Campaign and our need to raise money to help secure the future of the library. If you did not receive a mailing, please stop by the library and pick up the information so you can help be a part of the story. Thank you to those who have already donated or have made pledges over the next three years. Unless they have indicated they wish to remain anonymous, all donors will be listed in an upcoming issue of the newsletter To date $124,980 in donations and pledges have been received towards our goal of $160,000. The Peninsula Library is one of our community’s best assets and we appreciate your assistance on this campaign! Thank you! Peninsula Library Foundation

The museum's exhibit is in a second floor classroom of the historic Boston Township Hall, which was built in 1887 as the Peninsula High School.
